About Clipvote
Would you like to choose the coolest video clips of Second Life action? How about picking the best American Idol performance? Or perhaps you want to vote for the funniest parody of LonelyGirl15? Clipvote has all that and much more.
So how does it work? Clips are organized into pairs in multi-round leagues, and your votes determine which clips move to the next round, and which clip becomes the ultimate winner in each league. Clipvote shows you a stream of clip pairs, and at each step you vote for the best clip in that pair, and then you move on to the next clip pair in that league and round. Leagues are centered around a specific topic, and are organized in categories. So if you're interested in music videos, for example, you can get your fill of that. Or if you're into Animation, Clipvote has that too. Oh, and if you like a particular clip pair, you can embed it in any webpage. Myspace, Hi5, or your own blog -- it "just works", no hassles. All you have to do is click the Embed link and it'll give you the codes you need to add to the page where you want to embed the clip pair. And each page on Clipvote has a row of little icons that allow you to add that page to your favorite social bookmarking site, like Digg, Delicious, and others.
Guests can vote on all active leagues. Guests can also comment on clips and leave comments on the page of the member who created the league. And soon we'll implement tagging and searching, so you'll be able to search through the enormous number of clips and leagues that are already on Clipvote. You'll never run out of clips to watch, on Clipvote!
Of course becoming a member is completely free, and being a member gives you great benefits. First of all, as a member you'll get your own page where you can write about yourself, embed clip pairs, and generally make it your own. And you can edit it any time you want, and change it as many times as you want. Second, when you become a member you'll be able to create your own leagues, any number of them and on any topic. Next, as a member you can become a fan of other members and stay informed about what new leagues they created and what they're doing.
